Recap: Kyle Tucker Leads Dodgers To 8th Straight Victory With Grand Slam

The Los Angeles Dodgers began their penultimate road trip of 2026 by increasing their winning streak to eight games by defeating the Miami Marlins.

The Dodgers’ eight consecutive victories is a new season-high win streak. Their previous high this season was six consecutive wins before setting their new mark of seven on Wednesday.

Earlier this season in L.A., Miami took two of three games from the Dodgers. Still, the Dodgers have won 11 of their last 15 matchups. Last year in South Florida, the Dodgers took two of three from the Fish.

The Dodgers’ magic number to clinch the National League West now sits at five.

Dodgers 6, Marlins 2: key takeaways

Kyle Tucker provides Dodgers offense

The Dodgers’ offense continued to produce, and this time it was Kyle Tucker’s heroics that led them to victory. The right fielder went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and five RBI.

Tucker gave the Dodgers their first lead with a sacrifice fly in the third inning to put them up, 1-0. The inning was started by a walk from Tommy Edman and a single from Max Muncy.

Tucker scored the Dodgers’ second run of the game after hitting a triple in the sixth inning. He crossed home plate thanks to an RBI single from Will Smith.

Then in the seventh inning, Edman took a two-out walk, Muncy singled, and Mookie Betts walked to load the bases. Tucker broke the game open with a grand slam for his 14th home run of the season, giving the Dodgers a 6-1 lead.

Tucker finished a double shy of the cycle and was one of two Dodgers hitters with multiple hits, along with Muncy, who also had three.

Blake Snell solid but inefficient

Blake Snell has continued to stack quality outings since coming off the injured list, but he was not as efficient as he has been in some of his previous starts. Snell threw a season-high 101 pitches but was unable to complete a full six innings for just the second time since being activated.

The left-hander still turned in 5.2 innings of one-run ball while allowing four hits, striking out eight and walking two.

He did keep the Marlins off the board for the first five innings, but allowed a two-out single in the sixth inning. That ended his night, and Evan Phillips entered to pitch.

Phillips ended up allowing a double to bring in the run, but kept the Dodgers ahead, 2-1, by getting a strikeout to strand the tying run.

Josue De Paula makes MLB debut

Earlier in the day, the Dodgers officially called up top prospect Josue De Paula to make his MLB debut. De Paula was in the lineup batting seventh as the designated hitter.

The 21-year-old was 0-for-3, but took a walk in his second at-bat. He made contact on all three of his plate appearances and did not look overmatched at any point.

He is expected to be the Dodgers’ primary designated hitter with Shohei Ohtani on the injured list, and he will look to make his push for a spot on the postseason roster.
