Justin Wrobleski was knocked around early in his 2025 debut and the Los Angeles Dodgers suffered an 8-2 loss to the Washington Nationals.
The Dodgers have now dropped three games in a row and will finish with a losing record on their road trip. At 9-4 so far this season, they remain in third place in the National League West.

Despite a strong wind gust blowing in at Nationals Park, James Wood managed to lift a two-run home run to left-center field in the first inning. The Nationals then rallied in the second inning, as Wood drew a bases-loaded walk and Keibert Ruiz hurt his former team with a two-run single.
Ruiz finished 2-for-4 with the two RBI.
Wrobleski gave up a second two-run homer to Wood in the fifth inning that put the Dodgers in an 8-0 deficit. If there was a silver lining to the night, Wrobleski managed to provide some length by going five innings.
Ben Casparius pitched two innings and Luis García entered in the eighth.
Wrobleski made the start in place of Blake Snell, who landed on the 15-day injured list due to left shoulder inflammation. Snell has been temporarily shut down from throwing until Monday.
The Dodgers’ lone offensive production of the night came via solo homers from Andy Pages and Kiké Hernández once the game had already been taken over by the Nationals. The home run was Pages’ first of the season and it was a fourth for Hernández. All four of Hernández’s hits this season have been a home run.
But with that, the Dodgers fell to 9-2 this season when hitting at least two home runs in one game.
Dodgers pitching
Needing to recall Wrobleski from Triple-A Oklahoma City was somewhat of a surprise, and the development came after the Dodgers already had been planning on a spot starter or bullpen game for Wednesday.
They decided on Landon Knack to make the start in what will be his second appearance with the Dodgers this season.
By inserting Knack, the Dodgers are keeping both Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Roki Sasaki lined up to pitch once per week.
