Justin Turner had a game-high three hits to help lead the Los Angeles Dodgers in a 7-2 win over the San Francisco Giants. The Dodgers became the first team to 100 wins this season, and previously accomplished the feat with their 90th victory.

Turner went 3-for-4 with one walk and tied with Trayce Thompson for the lead with two RBI. Turner’s first hit of the night was a single that set up Thompson’s go-ahead home run in the second inning.

Turner then was part of the Dodgers opening the third inning with five consecutive singles. Trea Turner extended his hitting streak to 13 games during that span, and Freddie Freeman, Max Muncy and Justin Turner each drove in a run.

After Thompson’s walk loaded the bases, Joey Gallo added onto the Dodgers lead by grounding into a force out. Turner collected his second RBI of the night on a single in the fourth inning.

The cushion was more than enough for Julio Urías as he got through six innings. Sloppy defense in the first inning led to the Giants taking a 1-0 lead, and Wilmer Flores hit a solo home run in the third. Those were the only runs Urías allowed as he scattered five hits and finished with eight strikeouts.

Urías’ National League-leading ERA was brought down to 2.27 with the start. Miami Marlins ace and Cy Young Award frontrunner Sandy Alcántara is second in the NL with a 2.43 ERA.

Dodgers magic numbers

The Dodgers’ magic number to earn a bye in the first round of the postseason and start in the NL Division Series is three. Their magic number is eight for the No. 1 seed in the NL, and 12 for the best record and home-field advantage through the World Series.
