The Los Angeles Dodgers erased a pair of four-run deficits to rally for a 10-9 comeback win over the Arizona Diamondbacks in 10 innings to avoid their first three-game losing streak of the season. Gavin Lux hit two home runs and finished with a game-high five RBI.

He began to shake off what’s been a slow start since joining the Dodgers, going to the opposite field for a solo home run that broke the scoreless tie in the second inning. The lead was erased in the third as the Diamondbacks responded with a five-run inning.

Buehler retired the first seven batters faced, regularly touching triple digits with his fastball. However, during that process there were times Buehler looked at the blister on his right index finger.

Tuesday’s start was just his second since returning from the 10-day injured list, and while Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said the training staff would keep a watchful eye, there wasn’t significant concern.

“I think the main thing is no matter what, we’re going to take care of him and look out as far as the longer view. I’d rather be more cautious than not,” Roberts explained before the game. “If we felt any putting him in harm’s way right now, we wouldn’t even have him start. We feel confident and we’ll go from there.”

There were moments Buehler looked at his finger and he was checked on by a trainer as the game began to unravel for him. Daulton Varsho’s home run with one out in the third inning tied the game and got the Diamondbacks rolling.

Singles by Tim Locastro and Josh Rojas put two on, and a run scored on Lux’s throwing error to first base after he got to a ball hit to his left and spun for a throw. Christian Walker hit into a fielder’s choice to score another run, and Kole Calhoun knocked Buehler out of the game with a three-run homer.

Victor Gonzalez was the first in a xx of Dodgers relief pitchers to largely keep the Diamondbacks at bay. Adam Kolarek was hurt by a leadoff walk in the sixth inning, though limited Arizona to just one run.

That proved key as the Dodgers climbed back into the game behind a four-run seventh inning. It was a bit of a release after L.A. had 12 baserunners through the first six innings but stranded 10 of them and were 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position.

Walks by Cody Bellinger and Chris Taylor led to a Lux RBI single that cut the deficit in half. Edwin Rios drove in a pair with a double to the right-center field wall, and after Austin Barnes kept the seventh inning alive, Mookie Betts tied the game with an RBI single.

L.A. was on the verge of taking a lead in the eight inning but Walker made a diving stop to rob Rios and strand the bases loaded.

After Tim Locastro inexplicably ran into an out to send the game into extra innings, the Dodgers took the lead on an error by Eduador Escobar, allowing AJ Pollock to beat a throw home. Lux then delivered what held as a game-winning three-run homer.

Walker’s two-run home run off Kenley Jansen in the bottom of the 10th inning and David Peralta hit an RBI single with two outs, but then left the tying run on base.
