The Los Angeles Dodgers concluded their road trip with a 3-2 loss to the Minnesota Twins as they failed to complete the sweep in the three-game series.

The Dodgers didn’t have much going for them as both Bobby Miller and the offense couldn’t get anything positive going consistently in the game.

Miller was making his first start since giving up five earned runs in 1.2 innings to the Chicago Cubs, and while he was better against the Twins, he still looked off for most of the game.

The right-hander struggled with his control throughout, walking three hitters and allowing a home run on a poorly placed fastball. Miller went just four innings, giving up two runs on five hits with four strikeouts, exiting after 76 pitches.

Even with the less than ideal outing, Miller left the game in a 2-2 tie when Alex Vesia entered.

Vesia was immediately greeted with a home run by Edouard Julien, his second of the day, giving the Twins a 3-2 lead. Julien also homered off Miller, and he finished his day 3-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored.

However, it was the Dodgers that scored first, which happened in the first inning when Teoscar Hernández doubled following a single from Mookie Betts and a walk from Shohei Ohtani.

The Twins re-took the lead on an RBI-single from Byron Buxton, and the Dodgers tied the game in the fourth inning on a solo home run from Max Muncy, his second long ball of the season.

The Dodgers almost tied the game in the seventh inning when Shohei Ohtani tried to score from first base on a double from Freddie Freeman. Ohtani was originally called safe at home, but it was challenged and overturned with replay showing the Twins completed a perfect relay and tag at the plate to keep their lead.

Dodgers return to Dodger Stadium

With their first road trip of the season now complete, the Dodgers return home where they host the San Diego Padres for a three-game series beginning on Friday. Before that, they have an off-day on Thursday.

Following the Padres, the Dodgers also welcome the Washington Nationals and New York Mets to L.A., before they go back on the road beginning April 23.
