The Los Angeles Dodgers fell into a deficit but quickly erased it and cruised to a 12-6 win over the Milwaukee Brewers, scoring in double digits for a second consecutive night. And on the day the 2023 schedule was unveiled, the Dodgers completed a season series win against the Brewers by taking their fourth meeting of the seven matchups.

After back-to-back walks by Mookie Betts and Trea Turner in the first inning, Freddie Freeman lined a game-tying RBI single into left field. Justin Turner added an RBI base hit of his own, and Cody Bellinger drove in a pair on his two-out double.

Brewers starter Adrian Houser managed to get through a scoreless second inning and was charged for one run after exiting in the third, but the Dodgers broke the game open after that.

Singles by Turner and Freeman set the table for Max Muncy, who delivered a sacrifice fly. Joey Gallo hit a two-run double and Austin Barnes capped off the big inning with an RBI single.

Muncy collected his second sacrifice fly of the game in the fifth, and Barnes added a two-run home run in the sixth. Barnes finished the night with a game-high four RBI.

Barnes, Bellinger, Freeman, Justin Turner and Trea Turner also tied for the team lead with two hits each. Freeman remains one ahead of Turner for the most hits in baseball this season at 156.

Heaney reaches Dodgers’ goal

Heading into the series finale against the Brewers, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he was hopeful Andrew Heaney would complete five innings.

The southpaw wound up getting through six frames, allowing just two runs. It marked the first time Heaney pitched six innings since April 17, and he finished with 10 strikeouts to match last week’s total in a start at American Family Field.

Hanser Alberto finished the game out for a second consecutive night, but did allow a two-run homer before doing so.
