The Los Angeles Dodgers rode momentum from a 16-hit performance to reach double-digits in a second consecutive game en route to a 13-0 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Dodgers took the series at Chase Field and went 3-3 on their road trip.

AJ Pollock led off the second inning with a single, which was followed by Austin Barnes and Billy McKinney each drawing a walk to load the bases with nobody out. Caleb Smith nearly worked his way out of the jam but walked Chris Taylor with two outs.

Justin Turner then hit an RBI single and Albert Pujols capped off the two-out rally by clearing the bases with a double down the left-field line.

L.A. added to their lead in the fifth inning behind McKinney’s RBI single and a wild pitch bringing in another run. Pollock continued his hot hitting with an RBI double in both the sixth and eighth innings.

Sandwiched between those was a three-run home run from Justin Turner. It marked a second consecutive game he launched a homer into the Diamondbacks’ bullpen and gave him 20 overall this season, which is second only to Max Muncy (22) for the team lead.

The early run support was more than enough for Julio Urias and a string of relief pitchers. Urias allowed just four hits and collected seven strikeouts over five scoreless innings, and was followed by Phil Bickford, David Price and Yefry Ramirez.

The trio of relief pitchers combined for four hitless innings.

Dodgers welcome Betts back

Mookie Betts was activated off the 10-day injured list and went 2-for-5 with a home run and walk in his return. Betts started at second base in effort to protect against his hip possibly becoming aggravated by playing on turf in the outfield.
