The Los Angeles Dodgers took care of business on Friday, defeating the Atlanta Braves, 4-1, behind a dominant two-way performance by Clayton Kershaw. With the win, the Dodgers have outscored the Braves by a whopping nine runs in two contests at SunTrust Park.

Alex Wood makes his 20th start of the season and faces the team that drafted him in the second round of the 2012 MLB Draft. In four career appearances against his former Braves club, the left-hander is 1-3 with a 6.05 ERA and 2.12 WHIP in 19.1 innings pitched.

Wood earned his sixth victory of the season in his last start over the Milwaukee Brewers on July 22, allowing eight baserunners and two runs in six innings pitched with four strikeouts.

He enters with a 3.87 ERA, 3.48 FIP and 1.18 WHIP on the season to date, having accumulated 98 strikeouts to 23 walks over 111.2 frames. He is 5-0 in his last seven starts and has not lost a decision since June 9, the last time he faced the Braves.

The Braves counter with Max Fried, who makes his first career start against the Dodgers. He was activated off the disabled list prior to first pitch.

The Santa Monica native last took the mound on July 5 against the Brewers when he logged only four innings of work, and yielded seven baserunners and four runs before being tabbed with his third loss of the season.

Fried owns a 3.92 ERA, 4.66 FIP and 1.45 WHIP in 20.2 innings pitched this year, sporting a career-high 10.9 strikeouts and 5.7 walks per nine.

Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig makes his return off the disabled list and looks for continued success against the Braves. In his career against Atlanta, he owns a .330/.394/.543 slash line with 11 extra-base hits over 104 plate appearances (27 games).
