Having lost five of their last six games, the Los Angeles Dodgers look to get back on track in the third of a four-game set with the Cincinnati Reds at Dodger Stadium.

Ross Stripling, who will remain in the starting rotation in the absence of Clayton Kershaw, makes his third start of the season and 13th overall appearance.

The right-hander enters play on Saturday with a 1.93 ERA, 3.37 FIP and 1.41 WHIP across 23.1 innings with 24 strikeouts to nine walks.

In his last start against the San Diego Padres, Stripling tossed four scoreless innings with five strikeouts and two walks. As a starter this season, Stripling has allowed 12 hits and four earned runs in eight innings pitched (4.50 ERA).

The Reds counter with the longest-tenured member of their starting rotation in Homer Bailey. Over 43.1 innings this season (eight starts), the 32-year-old is 0-5 with a 5.61 ERA, 6.27 FIP and 1.34 WHIP.

Bailey has additionally yielded a National League-high 11 home runs this season. In his last start against the New York Mets, he allowed eight hits and six earned runs over four innings pitched.

Bailey owns a lifetime 3.69 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 31.2 career frames at Dodger Stadium, having last pitched there in 2014, when he earned a win after logging seven innings of two-run ball.

Dodgers veterans Chase Utley and Matt Kemp have faced Bailey extensively over their careers. Utley is 7-for-28 (.250 batting average) against him, while Kemp is 4-for-17 (.235 batting average) with a home run.

The Dodgers have not been able to figure out Reds second baseman Scoot Gennett in this series. He is 7-for-9 with two home runs, six RBI and three runs scored through the first two games.
