The Los Angeles Dodgers are on a three-game losing streak for the first time this season and now are in danger of dropping the home series to the Philadelphia Phillies.

Julio Urías looks to play stopper as he makes his seventh start of the 2022 campaign. He enters at 2-2 with a 2.10 ERA, 3.80 FIP and 1.10 WHIP in 30 innings pitched.

Urías allowed two runs on 11 hits over six-plus innings in his last start against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He dealt with plenty of traffic, including working his way out of a jam with runners on second and third base with nobody out in the sixth.

The left-hander gave up a leadoff home run to Michael Perez in the seventh inning and was removed at 82 pitches. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts explained after the game that he liked the matchup, which led to sticking with the 25-year-old one start after having a quick hook.

Urías owns a 2-0 record with a 2.93 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in four career appearances (two starts) against the Phillies. He has been dominant at Dodger Stadium this season, throwing 11 consecutive scoreless innings over his first two outings.

With Clayton Kershaw on the 15-day injured list and the Dodgers in the midst of playing 31 games in 30 days, Roberts is hopeful to get some length out of Urías.

The Phillies counter with Ranger Suárez, who is coming off an excellent start against the Seattle Mariners. He yielded only four hits and collected seven strikeouts across six shutout innings.

Suárez improved to 3-1 with a 3.68 ERA, 4.74 FIP and 1.50 WHIP in 29.1 innings pitched this season (six games). The 26-year-old is 2-1 with a 2.35 ERA and 1.17 WHIP in four career appearances against the Dodgers (one start).

Will Smith is back in the Dodgers lineup as the designated hitter. Smith should then catch Sunday and Monday, and one of the doubleheader games Tuesday. He recently was slowed by a minor right pectoral issue.
