Dodger Stadium will play host to a musical legend on July 13, when Paul McCartney will make a stop on his “Freshen Up” tour. VIP packages remain available but general tickets to the concert sold out immediately and are only available on the secondary market.
McCartney previously played Dodger Stadium in 2014. Prior to that, it was as a member of the Beatles when they visited Chavez Ravine in August 1966, playing in front of a sold-out crowd.
McCartney last was in the Southern California area in 2016 at the Desert Trip festival in Indio. His latest tour also includes a stop at Petco Park on June 22. The three-hour show will include music, past and present, from McCartney’s 50-year catalog.
Dodger Stadium has quietly become somewhat of a hotbed for musicians since the Los Angeles Dodgers entered into a multi-year exclusive booking agreement with the Oak View Group (OVG) to bring concerts to the venue.
Since announcing the partnership in February 2016, Beyoncé’s “Formation World Tour” rolled in during September 2016 and Billy Joel; the Eagles, Steely Dan, and Doobie Brothers played in July 2018; and Camp Flog Gnaw are among the concerts that have been held at Dodger Stadium.
