The Los Angeles Dodgers have already won two of three games against the San Diego Padres this season, and they’ll get a chance to add to that victory total early as they open a four-game set on Monday night against their division rival as clear -170 favorites on the MLB odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The two National League West clubs met for three games in San Diego from Aug. 3-5, with the Dodgers dropping the first game of the series 5-4 as -130 betting favorites but bouncing back from there to win 5-2 at -114 on the moneyline and 7-6 as -122 road chalk at online betting sites.

That improved Los Angeles to a strong 8-2 in its past 10 games against San Diego dating back to last August, according to the OddsShark MLB Database, with the OVER paying off six times in that stretch for totals bettors. The Dodgers are just 6-4 in their last 10 home games against the Padres, and the OVER/UNDER was just 3-7 in those 10 contests for bettors.

Dustin May is scheduled to start for the Dodgers in Monday’s series opener, and he beat the Padres on Aug. 4 by surrendering just two earned runs on three hits over six innings of work while striking out eight batters. The right-hander has made three starts so far this season, going 1-0 with a 2.63 ERA, and fanning 15 hitters while walking just three in 13 2-3 innings.

The Padres are expected to counter with Garrett Richards on the mound on Monday, and he gave up four earned runs on five hits in his five innings of work in a loss to the Dodgers on August 5. Overall the right-hander is 0-1 through three starts on the season with a 4.60 ERA.

Ross Stripling is in line to start for Los Angeles on Tuesday, and he beat the Padres on Aug. 5 despite allowing four earned runs on six hits in 5.2 innings of work in that game. The right-hander is a perfect 3-0 on the season with a 4.00 ERA through his three outings. Julio Urias (1-0, 2.40 ERA) is then the team’s probable starting pitcher for Wednesday, with Clayton Kershaw (1-1, 3.60 ERA) set to take the mound for Thursday night’s series finale.
