Mookie & Brianna Betts Knock Down Pins With 2nd Annual 5050 Foundation Bowling Tournament

Most of the Los Angeles Dodgers roster was together on Saturday for DodgerFest at Dodger Stadium and later that night made their way to Lucky Strike at L.A. Live to support Mookie Betts and his wife Brianna for their charity bowling event.

The second annual “Mookie Betts + Friends Bowling Tournament” benefitted the couple’s 5050 Foundation, which has a mission of breaking the barriers that hold kids back, particularly for their medical and financial needs.

“I think as a foundation, I would love for more Black kids to play baseball. I would absolutely love it. But realistically speaking, they have to see more of me. I have to do my job and be out there more. For the 5050 Foundation, we just provide opportunities for them to be successful in life,” Betts said on the red carpet.

“If they want to be a lawyer, they can be a lawyer. Or a baseball player, whatever it is, we just want to provide the tools and opportunities to at least go down the path.”

Bobby Miller, James Outman, Blake Treinen, Tyler Glasnow, Evan Phillips, Gavin Lux, Freddie Freeman, Will Smith and Jason Heyward were among Dodgers teammates to attend the charity bowling event.

“It shows you the kind of team we have. We support each other each and every way. My (foundation) team is here, wife is here and everyone else who helped us put this on, it’s a team effort for everybody. It just shows you we have a great group,” Betts said.

Net proceeds from the bowling event are going toward continued support of the Brotherhood Crusade as part of the “50 Feeds L.A.” initiative, along with improvements at Jackie Robinson’s High School, John Muir.

Mookie Betts bowling event private dinner

On the eve of the second annual bowling event, the Betts hosted a private dinner inside the Dodgers clubhouse for partners and sponsors. Miguel Rojas, Jason Heyward, Freddie Freeman, Chelsea Freeman and Dodgers co-owner Alan Smolinisky also attended.

The casino night theme included celebrity magician Johnny Wu, who hypnotized Freeman and performed tricks on the Betts.

Earlier in the week, Mookie and Brianna Betts participated in a financial literacy workshop at Dodger Stadium as part of the Dodgers Love L.A. Community Tour.
