A third Los Angeles Dodgers Zoom party featuring players, alumni, celebrities and SportsNet LA broadcasters is scheduled for Monday, May 11, at 6 p.m. PT.
Four participants have already been announced for the upcoming event, including a trio of newcomers in Mookie Betts, Walker Buehler and Gavin Lux. Justin Turner, who has taken part in the previous two, is slated to return.
Last week’s get-together welcomed nearly 12,000 fans to the virtual chat that featured the returns of broadcasters Joe Davis, Orel Hershiser, Alanna Rizzo, Kenley Jansen and Turner, and saw them joined by Cedric The Entertainer, Clayton Kershaw, Cody Bellinger, Andre Ethier and Adrian Gonzalez, among others.
The event brought many laughs, especially early on when Bellinger attempted to answer a question while muted. His youth — and beard — were often the source of jokes throughout the night.
Kershaw was also the subject of some playful ribbing by his teammates, particularly for his reputation and serious mood on start days.
The players additionally took questions from fans, including one that asked them who their favorite MLB players were growing up.
Kershaw, who grew up supporting the Texas Rangers, explained that he wears No. 22 as a tribute to former All-Star first baseman Will Clark. Turner, a Cal State Fullerton alum, revealed he kept tabs on players that graduated from his alma mater.
Bellinger, whose father, Clay, played for the New York Yankees, pointed out that Derek Jeter was his favorite player as a child. He went on to add that he also took a liking to former Dodgers outfielder Manny Ramirez.
Aside from Betts, Buehler, Lux and Turner, it is unclear which additional guests will join them for the third Dodgers Zoom party next week.
Fans that would like to watch must RSVP ahead of time, and they can do so on the Dodgers’ official website.
