The Los Angeles Dodgers will once again be represented at Crypto.com Arena as the Los Angeles Kings host their annual game to recognize their neighboring MLB franchise on January 4 for a matchup against the Detroit Red Wings.

As part of the Dodgers Night celebration, Mookie Betts will be in attendance to participate in the ceremonial puck drop. He joins a list of Dodgers to take part in the honor, including Tony Gonsolin, Jaime Jarrín, Chase Utley, Steve Yeager, Bill Russell, and Kiké Hernandez.

The Kings are also giving away a co-branded Dodgers jersey to those who purchased the special ticket package.

The baseball jersey is a light blue color and features L.A. Kings text on the front with Dodgers as the name on the back and No. ’24 to signify the year. The sleeve also has the Kings’ primary logo.

It’s Dodgers Night tomorrow and we’ve got a special guest in store 👀@mookiebetts will be dropping the puck ahead of tomorrow’s game!

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PT.

The Kings enter the game in the midst of a strong season, but losers of their last three while going 4-5-1 in their last 10. Overall, they are 20-9-5 (45 points), which places them third in the Pacific Division.

The Red Wings are 18-16-4 (40 points) and rank fifth in the Atlantic Division. They are 3-7 in their last 10, but won their last game.

The Kings have outscored opponents by 33 goals this season, while the Red Wings have been outscored by 22. The Kings have done that backed by the fewest goals allowed in hockey (83), thanks in part to a resurgent season from goaltender Cam Talbot, along with a strong defense.

Most of the Kings’ success has come on the road as they are 13-2-1 away from Crypyo.com Arena. At home, the Kings are 7-7-4 this year, while the Red Wings are 8-9-1 on the road.

Drew Doughty & Trevor Moore visited Dodger Stadium for Kings Night

Last July, the Dodgers held their annual Kings Night with Drew Doughty and Thousand Oaks native Trevor Moore on hand to watch the matchup against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Although Doughty has been a lifelong Blue Jays fan after growing up in Canada, he has also continuously supported the Dodgers during his time with the Kings. While Doughty was throwing out the pitch, “Hollywood Nights,” by Bob Seger, the song played after a Kings’ home victory, was also played over the speakers.

As for Moore, the day was surely special for him as he has been a Dodgers fan — and a Kings fan — throughout his life.
