Mookie Betts Didn’t Stay At ‘Haunted’ Dodgers Team Hotel In Milwaukee

The Los Angeles Dodgers reached the end of their six-game road trip on Wednesday with an afternoon rubber match against the Milwaukee Brewers. Like other MLB teams that visit Milwaukee, the Dodgers stayed at the Pfister Hotel, which is a luxury four-star hotel.

However, it is also considered to be haunted, according to some who have stayed there. Previously, players including Carlos Gomez, Adrian Beltre and Ji-Man Choi claimed to have supernatural experiences at the hotel.

Although Mookie Bets doesn’t necessarily believe in ghosts, he didn’t want to risk anything, so he booked a private Airbnb rather than stay at the Dodgers team hotel, via Bill Plunkett of the Southern California News Group:

While in Milwaukee, the Dodgers are staying at a local hotel known for stories of being haunted. But not Mookie Betts.

Betts is staying with some friends who rented an Airbnb for the series “just in case” the ghost stories are true. “It was a good excuse (not to stay there),” Betts said.

If the hotel is in fact haunted, Betts would prefer to just hear the stories from his teammates and other players:

“You can tell me what happened after,” he said. “I just don’t want to find out myself.”

While there is likely scientific reasons for the supernatural appearing events, baseball players are among the most superstitious people in the world, so if it keeps Betts’ mind at ease to stay away, that’s enough of a reason to.

Betts opened Tuesday’s game with a leadoff home run over, which seemed to exercise some demons Dodgers have had against left-handed pitching in their 6-2 victory. He also went 1-for-4 in the series-opening loss.

Dodgers reportedly opening 2024 season in South Korea

The Dodgers have a long international presence through free agency and player development, along with playing outside of the United States.

They recently were reported as being in talks to play games in Paris during the 2025 MLB season and their latest journey to an international city was participating in the 2018 Mexico Series at Estadio de Béisbol in Monterrey.

Their next stop appears to be in South Korea, where the Dodgers are expected to play a 2024 Opening Series with the San Diego Padres.
