With the Major League Baseball non-waiver trade deadline just around the corner, the Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the teams expected to be extremely active in the next month.

Bolstering their bullpen will certainly be a priority for president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman and his staff, but they may also look to add to their infield.

The big name they have been linked to is Baltimore Orioles shortstop Manny Machado, who will likely be the best player moved before the deadline. They have also shown interest in other infielders like Scooter Gennett, Brian Dozier and Asdrubal Cabrera though.

One other name to keep an eye on is Pittsburgh Pirates second baseman Josh Harrison as according to Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press, the Dodgers have begun checking in on him as well:

Harrison is a player that Dodger fans are very familiar with dating back to last August when he broke up Rich Hill’s no-hit bid at PNC Park by hitting a walk-off home run in the 10th inning.

Harrison is a very athletic, versatile infielder, which the Dodgers have typically valued, although he is having a down year at the plate. In 55 games this season, Harrison is hitting just .256/.292/.350 with four home runs, 22 RBI and three stolen bases.

He was an All-Star in both 2014 and 2017 though, so the Dodgers may be hoping that he can return to the form with a change of scenery. With potentially as many as two more years of team control, the prospect cost to acquire Harrison may be higher than impending free agents like Dozier and Cabrera.
