MLB Trade Rumors: Dodgers, Brewers ‘Most Serious’ Suitors For Orioles Star Manny Machado
Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

With the Major League Baseball trade deadline rapidly approaching, the Los Angeles Dodgers are believed to be one of the more active teams at the deadline.

While their main need is to bolster their bullpen, they may also be in the market for an infielder, and the best one available is Baltimore Orioles star, Manny Machado.

Machado has been linked to the Dodgers since their All-Star Corey Seager went down, although Chris Taylor has filled in admirably in his position.

As the deadline gets closer though, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic is reporting that the Dodgers along with the Milwaukee Brewers are the two teams that are showing the most interesting in acquiring Machado:

There were also recent reports that of the eight teams that have made offers to Baltimore so far, the Dodgers offer was the most appealing despite not including top prospects Alex Verdugo and Yadier Alvarez.

Machado is set to hit free agency at the end of the year, so whatever team acquires him it may very well be just as a rental, especially the Dodgers, who still view Seager as their shortstop longterm.

The three-time All-Star enters play Sunday hitting .310/.380/.557 with 21 home runs and 60 RBIs, so he will certainly upgrade the Dodgers offense, which has already been among the best in the league.
