MLB Top-10 Right Fielders Right Now: Teoscar Hernández Ranked By The Shredder For 2025

Teoscar Hernández impressed on all fronts during his first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Because of that stellar play and recent years of success, Hernández was ranked by MLB Network’s The Shredder as one of the Top-10 Right Fielders Right Now for the 2025 season.

Analyzing data based on past performance, several offensive and defensive metrics, “The Shredder” complies their version of the best players at each position.

Hernández slotted in at No. 10 on The Shredder’s list of top right fielders this year, while former big leaguer Cliff Floyd placed him at No. 5. MLB Network analyst Brian Kenny left Hernández off his list entirely.

The 32-year-old performed like a top bat with his stat sheet making a strong case, but Hernández was likely brought down by his negative defensive value.

Over 154 games, Hernández batted .272/.339/.501 with 32 doubles, two triples, 33 home runs, 99 RBI and 12 stolen bases. He led National League outfielders in home runs, slugging percentage and RBI.

He was included on last year’s Top-10 list, coming in at No. 8 and only moves down because New York Yankees All-Star Aaron Judge is returning to his main position.

The emergence of young stars Kerry Carpenter of the Detroit Tigers and Matt Wallner of the Minnesota Twins put them in projected spots in front of Hernández as well.

The Dodgers brought him in to provide power and balance to a left-handed heavy lineup. Among qualified hitters in the NL, Hernández ranked seventh with a 154 wRC+ with the third-best slugging percentage (.574) against southpaws.

Hernández is expected to remain a threat in the Dodgers’ lineup, especially in matchups when he provides a troubling at-bat for opposing pitchers.

In their World Series playoff run, Hernández batted .250/.352/.417 with one double, three home runs and 12 RBI. His heroics during Game 5 of the Fall Classic when Hernández delivered a game-tying, two-run double put the Dodgers in a position to win it all.
