The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic hasn’t been easy for anyone as people have been forced to quarantine in their own homes, with some also experiencing a loss of income due to changes in their job status.

There additionally are no live sports going on, with Major League Baseball, the NBA, MLS, NHL and others forced to indefinitely suspend their respective seasons.

That was especially unfortunate for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who were in the midst of a strong Spring Training and were considered the favorites to represent the National League in the World Series.

While that could still possibly happen, there’s still no telling when the 2020 season will be able to get underway, if at all. The league is currently discussing a number of different options, including playing games at Spring Training facilities with no fans in attendance, but nothing seems imminent at this time.

In the meantime, all the Dodgers players could do is wait and train on their own to stay in shape. Walker Buehler recently discussed what he misses most during this time, and he pointed towards the organization’s clubhouse culture, as seen on SportsNet LA:

“Just having 25 guys in the locker room every day to mess around with and B.S. with. See, I’m getting better (about censorship). Just being in there and having guys around, I think is something all of us really miss. The first thing we think about is obviously playing; we’ve done that our whole lives and love it. But I do miss being in the locker room for some of the conversations, jokes and all that kind of stuff.”

David Price recently shared a similar sentiment, although it has to be extra difficult for him considering he was traded to the team just before the start of Spring Training and was in the process of getting to know new teammates.

The Dodgers, led by manager Dave Roberts, have diligently worked to create a strong clubhouse culture in recent years and the fact that all of the players miss being around each other is further indication of how strong of a bond that’s been developed.

This difficult time should only create an even bigger connection between the members of the Dodgers organization, as well as their fans as everyone hopes to get through the challenge together.
