Dodgers-Giants Game Selected For MLB On TBS Tuesday Night National Broadcast

The inaugural season of the MLB on TBS Tuesday Night franchise continues on when the Los Angeles Dodgers face the San Francisco Giants in the second of a four-game series at Oracle Park.

The game is a national broadcast on TBS with a crew led by play-by-play man Brian Anderson and joined by analyst Jeff Francoeur and reporter Allie LaForce. First pitch is set for 6:45 p.m. PT, however, coverage on TBS starts 15 minutes earlier.

Additionally, the “MLB on TBS Leadoff” pregame show will begin at 3 p.m. and feature MLB insider Joel Sherman joining host Ernie Johnson, Pedro Martinez, Jimmy Rollins and Curtis Granderson to weigh-in on the trade deadline.

Following the game, “MLB on TBS Closer” will provide postgame coverage with the same crew as the pregame show.

The TBS telecast will be available in L.A., in addition to the home SportsNet LA telecast.

The 2022 season is the start of a seven-year rights agreement between Turner Sports and MLB, extending a partnership that dates back more than 50 years. In addition to the season-long Tuesday night game of the week, the new franchise includes 30-minute pregame and postgame studio shows each week

The MLB on TBS Tuesday Night franchise debuted on April 12 with a National League West matchup between the San Diego Padres and Giants at Oracle Park. The Dodgers made their first appearance on April 19 when they hosted the Atlanta Braves in a rematch of the 2021 NL Championship Series.

Dodgers trade for Joey Gallo

Prior to their game against the Giants, the Dodgers acquired left-handed hitting outfielder Joey Gallo from the New York Yankees for pitching prospect Clayton Beeter.

Trading for Gallo seemingly signals a belief he can rebound to form when he was one of baseball’s most intriguing players with a profile similar to Max Muncy that combined elite power with a good eye and quality defense.

In his career, Gallo has been named to two All-Star teams and won two Gold Glove Awards, so perhaps a change of scenery from the high-pressure market of New York would do him wonders. He also has experience playing all three outfield spots and both corner infield positions.
