Of the group of Los Angeles Dodgers free agents who were eligible to receive the qualifying offer, only Tyler Anderson and Trea Turner were extended the one-year pact for 2023.
Turner is effectively a lock to reject the $19.65 million salary for next season in lieu of a long-term contract. However, there’s not as much clarity with Anderson.
He’s coming off a one-year contract with the Dodgers that was worth $8 million. The southpaw put together an impressive campaign that earned him a first career All-Star Game selection.
Prior to Anderson officially receiving the qualifying offer, he reportedly was drawing interest from the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Angels, according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network:

When free agency began the morning after the World Series concluded, it marked the start in which teams had a five-day exclusive window to negotiate with their own players who reached the open market. Free agents were permitted to have contact with other clubs, but not discuss contract terms until 2 p.m. PT as of Thursday, November 10.
Even with the draft-pick compensation that would be attached to Anderson if he rejects the qualifying offer, it’s conceivable he could command — and sign — a multi-year contract.
Anderson became an invaluable member of the Dodgers rotation as he went 15-5 with a 2.57 ERA, 3.31 FIP and 1.00 WHIP over 30 games (28 starts). He set career-best marks in wins, ERA, ERA+ (163), WHIP, and strikeout to walk ratio (4.06).
Qualifying offer deadline for Tyler Anderson
Anderson and all other players who were extended a qualifying offer for 2023 have until Tuesday, November 15, to accept or decline it.
The system has been in place since 2012 and seen 124 players extended a qualifying offer. Heading into this offseason, only 11 have accepted the one-year pact; including Brett Anderson with the Dodgers for 2016, and Hyun-Jin Ryu for 2019.
