2026 MLB All-Star Game: Justin Wrobleski Replaces Chase Burns On National League Roster

The Los Angeles Dodgers have another All-Star Game selection as Justin Wrobleski was named to the National League team in place of Cincinnati Reds’ starter Chase Burns.

Wrobleski now joins teammates Freddie Freeman, Max Muncy, Shohei Ohtani, Andy Pages and Yoshinobu Yamamoto as 2026 National League All-Stars and ties the Dodgers with the Philadelphia Phillies for the most selections in MLB.

However, Ohtani will not be traveling to the game due to a knee procedure he will undergo on Sunday afternoon.

Justin Wrobleski, first selection

Wrobleski has been a breakout star this season and is now rewarded with his first career selection to the All-Star Game. The left-hander has gone 10-2 with a 2.69 ERA, 3.39 FIP and 1.01 WHIP across 100.1 innings while striking out 18.3% of hitters and walking 5%.

Wrobleski opened the season in the bullpen and made one appearance there before moving into the rotation. As a starting pitcher exclusively, Wrobleski owns a 2.52 ERA across 96.1 innings.

Wrobleski is one of three pitchers this season to reach the 10-win mark, joining Aaron Ashby of the Milwaukee Brewers and the Philadelphia Phillies’ Cristopher Sanchez.

He also became one of only two Dodgers pitchers over the last decade to earn 10 wins in a season before the start of July, joining Clayton Kershaw, who did it three times in 2016, 2017, and 2023.

Although he may be one of the lesser-known All-Stars, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has been making the case for the left-hander.

“I think Yamamoto will certainly be in the conversation,” Roberts previously said. “And I think Wrobo, you can’t argue the numbers and the performance. If he continues to do what he’s doing, I hope he gets some consideration.”

Despite the initial All-Star Game snub, Wrobleski has been gaining some spotlight, especially after being given the nickname “Shark” by Pedro Martínez.

Wrobleski has found success this year after taking advice from Kershaw, who was a similar pitcher to Wrobleski in many ways during the final part of his career.
