Metro Continuing Dodger Stadium Express Operations Amid Imposed Curfew

While the Los Angeles Dodgers were in the midst of their road trip, civil unrest erupted miles from Dodger Stadium with protests against federal immigration enforcement.

Peaceful protests in downtown Los Angeles have been accompanied by looters, vandalism and violence. That prompted mayor Karen Bass to impose a curfew that went into effect Tuesday night and still remains in place. Curfew hours are 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

It’s created some confusion with the Dodgers back home for their first series of the year against the rival San Francisco Giants.

According to Bill Shaikin of the L.A. Times, the Dodger Stadium Express plans to continue with normal operations from Union Station:

The Dodger Stadium Express is scheduled to operate normally this weekend, even as the bus departs from and arrives at an area subject to curfew restrictions.

The service, which provides fans a free ride between Union Station and Dodger Stadium, “will be running per usual,” Metro senior director of communications Missy Colman said Thursday.

The Dodger Stadium Express is free to fans with a ticket to that day’s game. The Union Station service uses a dedicated bus lane on Sunset Boulevard from the station to Vin Scully Avenue.

Buses run every 10 minutes, starting 2.5 hours before first pitch. Fans have the option to exit the Dodger Stadium Express at the center field stop or top deck.

Return service to Union Station runs for 45 minutes after the final out, or 20 minutes after post-game events.
Parking at Union Station in the Patsaouras Bus Plaza is $8.00.

Is Dodger Stadium in curfew zone?

Mayor Bass set the curfew region as the area bounded by the 5, 10 and 110 freeways, to the 110 freeway and the 10 freeway to where the 110 and 5 freeways merge.

Dodger Stadium is not in the curfew zone, but Union Station is. Per curfew guidelines set by mayor Bass, a person attending a ticketed event that ends after 8 p.m. PT should leave the curfew zone at the conclusion of the event. They are asked to carry their ticket, if possible.
