Members Of K-Pop Group EXO Performing National Anthem At Seoul Series

The Los Angeles Dodgers are opening the regular season this week by facing the San Diego Padres in the Seoul Series at Gocheok Sky Dome. The highly anticipated matchup mark the first MLB regular-season games ever played in South Korea.

Fan interest in the Seoul Series has skyrocketed due to the Dodgers’ global popularity and the plethora of star power that will be on display, including Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Manny Machado, Fernando Tatis Jr. and Korea native Ha-Seong Kim.

As a result, ticket prices for the Seoul Series are currently being sold for more than five times the face value. Tickets have been sold out through official platforms since the end of January, with limited avenues to obtain admission.

Those lucky enough to secure a seat will get to see Lena Park and Baekhyun, members of the popular K-Pop group EXO, perform the Korean and American national anthems before each matchup.

EXO formed in 2011 and consists of nine members, including Baekhyun, who previously performed at the League of Legends World Championship Opening Ceremony last year.

The Dodgers have previous ties to the K-Pop genre as BTS member Yoongi (also known as Suga) attended a game at Dodger Stadium in 2019 and got to meet Hyun-Jin Ryu after he threw a complete-game shutout against the Atlanta Braves.

K-Pop groups Aespa & (GI)-DLE performing at Seoul Series

MLB previously announced that popular K-Pop groups Aespa and (GI)-DLE will perform prior to Games 1 and 2 of the Seoul Series, respectively.

Seoul Series games will be televised by SportsNet LA and ESPN, with first pitch for both at 3:05 a.m. PT.
