The Los Angeles Dodgers became the first team in 25 years to repeat as World Series champions after outlasting the Toronto Blue Jays in seven games.
With the Dodgers going the distance for a second consecutive year, it guaranteed another shortened offseason. The club had just over three months to recover before pitchers and catchers hold their first Spring Training workout at Camelback Ranch on Thursday, Feb. 13.
It’s an even shorter offseason for players participating in the 2026 World Baseball Classic as they will report to Spring Training camps a few days earlier. For the Dodgers, that applies to Shohei Ohtani, Will Smith and Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
During an appearance on “Foul Territory,” Max Muncy admitted that many of his teammates will still be ramping up when Spring Training workouts begin next month:
After another short offseason, Max Muncy says a lot of his teammates have just recently begun baseball activities.

Having a shorter offseason to train isn’t ideal but the Dodgers successfully navigated that last year and still managed to win the World Series.
L.A. dealt with numerous injuries but got healthier as the 2025 season progressed and achieved their full potential as key players returned.
The Dodgers will look to lean on experience and veteran leadership to help them overcome a second consecutive shortened offseason.
2026 Dodgers Spring Training schedule
The 2026 Dodgers Spring Training schedule begins Saturday, Feb. 21, with a road game against the Los Angeles Angels at Tempe Diablo Stadium.
That’s followed by facing the San Diego Padres at Peoria Sports Complex on Sunday before the Dodgers have their Cactus League home opener in 2026 against the Seattle Mariners on Feb. 23.
The Dodgers are scheduled to play 28 Cactus League games in a span of 27 days. Included in that stretch is a split-squad matchup with Texas Rangers and Chicago Cubs on Feb. 28, and another against those same teams on March 15.
