Social media was buzzing Friday night, both for positive and negative reasons, and Los Angeles Dodgers part-owner Magic Johnson was among those to voice his disdain with the boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson.
The two clashed at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. More than 70,000 were in attendance and countless others encountered streaming issues as Netflix’s servers struggled to meet demand throughout the night.
While that drew the ire of fans who took to social media to express their frustration, Johnson’s message instead focused on the highly anticipated spectacle falling flat and Tyson laboring in his return to the ring.
Just sad smh. I cut it off because I couldn’t watch anymore. It’s sad to see Mike Tyson like this because I went to every Tyson fight.

Johnson did not specify when he stopped watching the boxing match, but it did go the full eight rounds. They were shortened to two minutes each, at Tyson’s request.
Tyson, 58, held his own through the first two rounds before fatigue — and biology — set in against the 27-year-old Paul. Tyson landed 18 of 97 punches thrown, which paled in comparison to Paul’s 78 out of 278.

Despite many bemoaning the highly anticipated fight, Tyson certainly deserves recognition for coming out of retirement and making it through the entire match.
Prior to Friday night, Paul had knocked down or knocked out each of his six opponents.
What’s next for Jake Paul and Mike Tyson?
While there is deserved doubt surrounding his quality of opponents, Paul’s boxing success continues to increase his profile and lead to an expectation of facing more qualified boxers.
During a post-fight interview from the ring, Tyson suggested he would fight again and seemingly picked Logan Paul, Jake’s older brother, as his next likely opponent.
