With the Super Bowl in the rearview mirror, the start of Spring Training has arrived, with Los Angeles Dodgers pitchers and catchers reporting to Camelback Ranch this week.
Those participating in the 2023 World Baseball Classic — Austin Barnes, Clayton Kershaw, Adam Kolarek, Will Smith, and Julio Urías — were due in camp Monday. Position players taking part in the WBC must report by Thursday when Dodgers pitchers and catchers hold their first official workout of Spring Training.
As Opening Day of the 2023 season rapidly approaches, the Dodgers unveiled their social media slogan for this year, “#HereToPlay” on Twitter.

In graphics shared on social media, the letters “l” and “a” in “play” are typed in the trademark “LA” logo.
There “#HereToPlay” Dodgers slogan for 2023 follows “#AlwaysLA” used last year. When the 2022 MLB postseason began, Dodgers marketing grew to include “#WinForVin” in honor of the late Vin Scully.
The Dodgers are heading into Spring Training and the regular season still with a talented roster but facing multiple questions. There has been significant roster turnover, with mainstays Cody Bellinger and Justin Turner no longer with the team.
Turner signing with the Boston Red Sox in free agency has created a leadership void in the Dodgers clubhouse that manager Dave Roberts, Freddie Freeman, and Chris Taylor have said will take a collective group to fill.
There also is a spotlight on Gavin Lux as he looks to take over as the everyday shortstop in return for his natural position. The Dodgers have had an All-Star at shortstop since 2016, between Corey Seager and Trea Turner.
Dodgers Opening World Series Odds
Even before player rosters take shape at Spring Training, there has been significant odds movement on betting boards. The Dodgers opened at +500 at the end of last season, but bookmakers across the globe have them trending down. They are +750 to win the World Series in some Las Vegas Casinos and Sportsbooks and as long as +800 abroad at Australian Sportsbooks and New Zealand Casinos and betting apps.
Dodgers Spring Training Schedule 2023
The Dodgers start Cactus League play Saturday, February 25, with a road matchup against the Milwaukee Brewers. They will play their first spring home game against the Chicago Cubs the following afternoon.
There are 32 Cactus League games on the 2023 Dodgers Spring Training schedule, split evenly with 16 at home and 16 on the road. The Dodgers have two off days, the first on Tuesday, March 7, and the next a week later on March 14.
Their final game at Camelback Ranch is March 25 against the Kansas City Royals.
Opening Day of the 2023 season is March 30, when the Dodgers host the Arizona Diamondbacks in a rare nighttime start.
