As the Los Angeles Dodgers looked ahead to their current road trip, manager Dave Roberts revealed last week the team was planning to utilize a spot starter or bullpen game in the series finale against the Washington Nationals.
Doing so was going to allow the Dodgers to keep Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Roki Sasaki on their respective schedules of starting once per week. Yamamoto is slated to pitch Friday against the Chicago Cubs, and Sasaki is scheduled to take the mound Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers were forced to adjust their planning for the road trip in light of Blake Snell going on the 15-day injured list because of left shoulder inflammation. Justin Wrobleski was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to start Tuesday night in place of Snell.
According to Sonja Chen of MLB.com, manager Dave Roberts said the Dodgers decided on Landon Knack to make a spot start Wednesday and there’s a chance Wrobleski remains in the rotation until Snell is able to return:
Landon Knack will start tomorrow's finale vs. the Nationals, Dave Roberts said.
He also left open the possibility that Justin Wrobleski could stay in the rotation beyond tonight's start, as long as Blake Snell sidelined. But that's still TBD.

Like Wrobleski, Knack also was on the Dodgers travel roster for the Tokyo Series. Both pitchers were among the players optioned to Oklahoma City prior to domestic Opening Day at Dodger Stadium.
Knack allowed runs in three of four Cactus League appearances during the spring. However, he threw two scoreless innings against the Chicago Cubs in his 2025 debut.
Knack has made just one start for the OKC Comets this season, allowing two runs over 4.2 innings on April 3.
Landon Knack part of Dodgers’ White House trip
Indications that Knack would factor into the Dodgers’ pitching plans for the final game of their road trip surfaced on Monday when the team visited the White House to celebrate winning the 2024 World Series.
Knack was among the full Dodgers contingent that met President Trump during the trip to the White House, and he also received his 2024 World Series ring this week.
