Kobe Bryant Jersey Giveaway At Dodger Stadium For Aug. 25

The 2024 Los Angeles Dodgers promotional and giveaways calendar includes a Kobe Bryant jersey for Aug. 25, when the team hosts the Tampa Bay Rays in the second game of a weekend series.

The Kobe Bryant jersey giveaway at Dodger Stadium is expected to be available for the first 40,000 ticketed fans in attendance. The design of the special jersey was just made public, and it again takes from the five-time champion’s Black Mamba persona.

Bryant’s Dodgers jersey features a No. 8 on the front and No. 24 on back to celebrate the entirety of his Los Angeles Lakers career. It also includes the Lakers’ logo on the back collar and left sleeve, and the right sleeve has Bryant’s initials — “KB” enclosed in a heart.

The Dodgers first made a Kobe jersey available last year.

Los Angeles Dodgers planned a Kobe Bryant jersey giveaway at Dodger Stadium for Aug. 25, 2024.

The 2024 Kobe Bryant jersey giveaway is stadium-wide, whereas last year’s version was only available to fans who purchased a special ticket pack for Lakers Night at Dodger Stadium.

The Dodgers and Lakers share a friendly relationship that largely stems from a strong Southern California fanbase that supports both teams.

On Aug. 24, the Dodgers have a Lakers Showtime t-shirt giveaway planned.

Lakers Night 2023 saw Bryant’s oldest daughter, Natalia, throw out the ceremonial first pitch, the Dodgers make a $100,000 donation to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation, and a special drone show.

Dodgers president and CEO Stan Kasten presented the check to Vanessa Bryant during a pregame ceremony on the field. She was accompanied by Natalia, Bianka and Capri.

Dodgers players dressed in Bryant Lakers jerseys as they stood along the foul line. Some were in a No. 8 throwback Lakers jersey, while others donned No. 24 in gold.

Natalia threw out the first pitch to Mookie Betts, who developed a friendship with Kobe and has leaned on his advice from conversations they had. One such instance came during Betts’ first time playing at Fenway Park since being traded to the Dodgers, as he recalled a conversation with the five-time NBA champion about remaining focused amid distractions.
