Tommy Edman: Miguel Rojas Home Run One Of The Most ‘Iconic’ Moments In World Series History

Miguel Rojas helped the Los Angeles Dodgers complete an improbable comeback against the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 7 of the 2025 World Series.

With the Dodgers down to their final two outs, Rojas hit a game-tying home run off Jeff Hoffman that evened the score at four apiece.

It was an unlikely contribution as the 36-year-old has never been known for his power. Rojas had just one career postseason home run to his name before that to go along with 57 home runs in 12 big league seasons.

During an appearance on “The Sedano & Kap Morning Show,” Tommy Edman said Rojas’ clutch home run is one of the most iconic moments in World Series history and believes no player deserved it more:

“It’s for sure the best baseball game I’ve ever been a part of. So many huge moments, so many iconic moments that will go down in World Series history as legendary moments. For me, the coolest thing was just the fact that Miggy Ro is the one who came up with the big homer. Everybody knew that Shohei was coming up that inning, that he was going to potentially get up with two outs, and then Miggy is the one that comes in. That’s just the game of baseball.

“There’s times in World Series history where the unexpected hero comes through, and he was definitely that guy. Nobody deserves it more than Miggy. He was kind of the leader of our clubhouse this year, getting everybody going, kind of the guy that would pick us up if we had a few games where we struggled. Baseball has a way of rewarding you for all the work through the year and caring about your teammates. Everybody was so fired up for him.”

Rojas has been one of the most popular Dodgers players since returning to the team nearly three years ago, and Edman’s praise for him certainly reflects that.

Rojas’ home run in Game 7 is even more significant considering the he nearly missed the contest due to a rib injury.

He became the first player in MLB history to hit a game-tying home run in the ninth inning or later of a World Series Game 7.

Rojas is now a free agent but he has expressed interest in finishing his career with the Dodgers.

Miguel Rojas home run ball sells in auction

Rojas’ home run ball recently sold for $156,000 in an auction. Will Smith’s game-winning home run ball went for $168,000 in the same auction.
