The Los Angeles Dodgers return from their first off day of Spring Training for a third consecutive game at Camelback Ranch as they take on the Seattle Mariners in Cactus League play. The Dodgers are looking for their fourth straight win in spring action.

Wednesday’s game is the Dodgers’ second at night this year, and first under the lights at Camelback.

Michael Grove, their 2018 second-round draft pick, makes his third start of Cactus League play after Tony Gonsolin was scratched due to a sprained left ankle.

Grove takes the mound after delivering a solid outing of two hitless innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks on March 2 while striking out two.

The 26-year-old, who made his MLB debut last May, collected a 4.60 era in 29.1 innings of work across seven games (six starts) while up with the Dodgers. Across 76 innings of work between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City, he had a 3.79 ERA.

Making his second start of spring for Seattle is budding ace Logan Gilbert. He looks to get back on track after his 2023 debut didn’t go as planned. Gilbert allowed three earned runs in just 1.2 innings of work against the San Diego Padres on March 2.

At just 25 years old, the right-hander is coming off a stellar sophomore season that included a 13-6 record with a 3.20 ERA over 32 starts.

Although some regulars have now reported for the World Baseball Classic, Gilbert faces a Dodgers lineup currently on an offensive tear that has garnered 25 hits across their last two games. Max Muncy has seemingly found his stride this spring within the batter’s box, going 3-for-6 with two doubles over his two most recent games.

Jason Heyward fills in for Mookie Betts in right field and the leadoff spot, and James Outman is getting an opportunity to play center field.
