The Los Angeles Dodgers were well represented on the MLB Top 100 Players Right Now list heading into the 2026 season as Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Mookie Betts, Will Smith, Kyle Tucker, Freddie Freeman, Blake Snell and Edwin Díaz made the ranking.
The Dodgers lead all teams with eight total selections, which is one fewer than they had heading into last season but one more than their representation on the 2024 list.
Tyler Glasnow, Teoscar Hernández and Roki Sasaki were ranked last year but did not make the list for 2026.
The New York Yankees placed second with six Top 100 players for this season, and they were followed by the Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Phillies and Seattle Mariners at five each.
Dodgers ranked on MLB Top 100 Players Right Now list
No. 1: Shohei Ohtani
Ohtani has been ranked the No. 1 player for back-to-back seasons, and in four of the last five years. Ohtani checked in at No. 4 in 2024.
He’s coming off consecutive National League MVP Awards and is looking to help the Dodgers win a third World Series in a row.
No. 13: Yoshinobu Yamamoto
Yamamoto made a significant jump from being ranked No. 63 a year ago. That stems from the right-hander being healthy all of last year and having one of the greatest postseason performances in MLB history.
Most notably, Yamamoto closed out Game 7 of the World Series while pitching on back-to-back days for the first time.
No. 18: Mookie Betts
Betts struggled offensively throughout 2025 and as a result has fallen from being ranked fifth heading into last year. Although 33-year-old wasn’t his usual self at the plate, Betts became a Gold Glove finalist at shortstop.
No. 20: Will Smith
Smith had another quality season as he continued to establish himself as one of the best catchers in baseball. Smith’s latest efforts contributed to moving up from No. 60 last year.
No. 21: Kyle Tucker
One of two Dodgers newcomers to get ranked, Tucker is looking to rebound from slipping a bit as he checked in at No. 14 heading into what ended up being his only season with the Chicago Cubs.
No. 22: Freddie Freeman
Freeman is another of the Dodgers’ veterans who saw a year-over-year drop despite having a productive season. He placed eighth on the MLB Top 100 Players Right Now list last season.
No. 54: Blake Snell
Snell dealt with a left shoulder injury last season, which presumably contributed to dropping from No. 36 to 54th on the top 100 list. Although Snell was limited in his first year with the Dodgers, he had a strong postseason.
No. 83: Edwin Díaz
Díaz is among just three relief pitchers on MLB’s latest list. He’s entering his first season with the Dodgers after signing a record-setting contract.
