The Los Angeles Dodgers (59-39) are coming off a series loss to the San Francisco Giants at home, losing ground to the National League West leaders over four games.

Now the Dodgers will try to finish a seven-game homestand with a series victory against the Colorado Rockies (42-54), opening as heavy -204 betting favorites on the MLB odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com for Friday at Chavez Ravine (how the moneyline works).

Rockies vs. Dodgers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Los Angeles has dominated Colorado this season, winning eight of the 10 games between the teams. The UNDER has also cashed at sports betting sites in six of the past eight meetings, although five of those totals closed at 11.5 or higher at Coors Field. Two of the three played at Dodger Stadium during that stretch also fell UNDER the total with closing numbers of 8.0 or less, so maybe bettors should expect another lower-scoring affair here.

The UNDER is especially compelling considering Friday’s starter for Los Angeles is David Price (4-0, 3.12 ERA), who has seen it go a perfect 5-0 in his starts so far this season. Price has not pitched more than four innings in any of his trips to the mound this year, and that came last time out at Colorado in a 6-5 loss in 11 innings on Sunday that fell UNDER 11.5. None of his previous four starts in 2021 saw more than seven total runs scored.

Price’s opposition in the opener for the Rockies is Chi Chi Gonzalez (3-6, 5.99 ERA), who has seen the OVER go 10-4 in his 14 starts. Colorado has dropped four of his past five outings, although he has lost a decision just twice during that stretch, allowing three runs or less three times.

The next pitching matchup in this series might be equally as lopsided in favored of the Dodgers, with Tony Gonsolin (1-1, 2.83 ERA) facing Kyle Freeland (1-4, 5.36 ERA) and the Rockies on Saturday before a battle of Grays ends things this Sunday. Los Angeles will send 23-year-old rookie right-hander Josiah Gray (0-0, 9.00 ERA) to the hill opposite Colorado’s Jon Gray (6-6, 3.68 ERA) in the finale.
