Red Sox Manager Alex Cora Praises Dodgers Fans For Strong Presence At Fenway Park

When the Los Angeles Dodgers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead against the Boston Red Sox on Saturday thanks to a pair of solo home runs from Shohei Ohtani and Teoscar Hernández in the first inning, they were met with loud cheers.

That was due to a large contingent of Dodgers fans being on hand at Fenway Park. Some of which was attributed to traveling group Pantone 294 having more than 2,000 fans with them.

Although the Dodgers would go on to be defeated by the Red Sox, the support they received did not go unnoticed from several players and coaches in the opposing dugout.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora credited Dodgers fans for showing up in big numbers anywhere the team plays, via Tom Carroll of WEEI:

“Not in the first inning. That was oof. That was Dodger Stadium-like, to be honest with you. I’ve never seen so many people from the opposition in one ballpark. That was different. Credit to them. They’ve done an amazing job throughout the years, getting to October and making a habit of that. And their fanbase, they travel well. That was loud. That was very loud. I’ve never seen anything like that.”

The Dodgers have one of the most passionate fanbases in all of sports and routinely lead the Majors in overall attendance, both at home and on the road.

Earlier this month, Dodgers fans traveling with Pantone 294 made their presence felt when the team played the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park. Logan Webb and Willy Adames were among the players who noted the sea of blue they saw in the crowd during the game.

According to Pantone 294’s website, the group has two more trips planned this season in Anaheim (Aug. 11) and San Francisco (Sept. 13).

Pantone 294 thanked Red Sox for Mookie Betts trade

After the Dodgers won the 2020 World Series, Pantone 294 placed a billboard across the street from Fenway Park with a message thanking Red Sox management for trading Mookie Betts to L.A.

When the Dodgers completed the trade to acquire Betts and David Price, the Red Sox were criticized for dealing away a generational talent.

“I just laughed,” Betts said at the time. “I mean, obviously I had nothing to do with that. It’s just funny.”
