Fresh off a series win over the Milwaukee Brewers, the Los Angeles Dodgers continue their road trip against another National League Central opponent in the Chicago Cubs.

Kenta Maeda makes his fifth start of the season and looks to build off an excellent outing against the Cincinnati Reds. In 6.2 innings pitched, he allowed just one run on four hits with five strikeouts.

For the year, Maeda owns a 3-1 record with a 3.80 ERA, 4.86 FIP and 1.27 WHIP in 23.2 innings. He has struck out 20 batters compared to 10 walks, but is allowing a career-high 1.5 home runs per nine in the early going.

In his career against the Cubs, Maeda is 1-0 with a 2.53 ERA and 1.31 WHIP over 10.2 innings pitched (two starts). Both of those appearances came during the 2018 season.

Chicago counters with left-hander Jose Quintana, who is in the midst of an impressive stretch. Dating back to April 11, he has logged 14 consecutive shutout innings in starts against the Pittsburgh Pirates and Miami Marlins.

All-in-all, Quintana enters with a 2-1 record on the season, having pitched to a solid 3.43 ERA, 3.19 FIP and 1.43 WHIP with 29 strikeouts against seven walks across 21 innings (four games, three starts).

The 30-year-old is 0-1 with a minuscule 1.40 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in three career starts against the Dodgers. Over that span, he has accumulated 15 strikeouts in comparison to five walks.

Somewhat predictably, the Dodgers lineup consists only two left-handed batters in Corey Seager and Cody Bellinger, who are batting cleanup and sixth, respectively.

Dodgers lineup:

2B: Kiké Hernandez
3B: Justin Turner
1B: David Freese
SS: Corey Seager
CF: A.J. Pollock
RF: Cody Bellinger
LF: Chris Taylor
C: Austin Barnes
P: Kenta Maeda
