The Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Dodgers took alternate approaches after Tuesday night’s game at Coors Field was rained out and a split doubleheader was scheduled for Wednesday.

Los Angeles is sticking with Ross Stripling, their previously scheduled starter for the Wednesday afternoon affair, while Colorado counters with Tyler Anderson. The southpaw was set to pitch Tuesday night when the sudden downpour began.

Anderson faced the Dodgers at Coors Field on Aug. 3, throwing seven innings of two-run ball and allowing six hits, including one home run. He’s the second lefty Los Angeles faces in their last three games.

Anderson is 4-5 with a 3.69 ERA, 3.66 FIP and 1.21 WHIP this season, including 4-1 with a 3.45 ERA over nine home starts.

Stripling faces the Rockies for the first time in his career. The right-hander enters 3-5 with a 4.13 ERA, 3.88 FIP and 1.27 WHIP over 16 games (12 starts) with the Dodgers.

After appearing out of the bullpen on July 31 when Bud Norris failed to make it out of the first inning due to injury, Stripling has started in four consecutive games, going 1-2 with a 4.09 ERA over that span.

Corey Seager, who wasn’t slated to face Anderson on Tuesday night, returns to the lineup. Seager was hit by a pitch on his left wrist during the seventh inning of the series opener and sent for x-rays after the Dodgers’ loss.

The results came back negative, though the 22-year-old was in line for a previously determined night off. Seager is one of just two left-handed batters in the lineup. What’s more, he’ll join Adrian Gonzalez and Justin Turner as those who are starting both games of the doubleheader.

The Dodgers have won their last four day games and are a Major-League best 25-11 during such games this season. Gonzalez, who is a lifetime .307/.380/.545 hitter at Coors Field, leads the Majors with a .390 batting average during the daytime in 2016.
