The Los Angeles Dodgers are in the playoffs for the 13th consecutive season but navigated a bit of a new wrinkle for the franchise by beginning their October run in the Wild Card Series.
Although the Dodgers won the NL West title for the fourth year in a row and 12th time since 2013, they were not among the top-two division winners. That meant facing the Cincinnati Reds in the Wild Card round, which the Dodgers swept to set the stage for an NL Division Series showdown with the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Dodgers’ postseason streak is the longest active MLB playoffs stretch and tied with the New York Yankees (1995-2007) for second all-time.
The Atlanta Braves hold the longest postseason streak in MLB history at 14 seasons in a row from 1991-2005.
Prior to their current stretch, the Dodgers had not reached the postseason more than two years in a row.
