MLB Plans To Sell Limited Tickets For NLCS, World Series At Globe Life Field

Major League Baseball announced they will allow a limited number of fans to attend the 2020 National League Championship Series and World Series, both of which will take place at Globe Life Field, home of the Texas Rangers.

In conjunction with the Rangers, MLB will sell approximately 11,500 tickets for every NLCS and World Series game. Of those fans, 10,550 will spread throughout the ballpark and 950 in suites. Tickets for all seven games of each series will go on sale starting on Tuesday, October 6 at 8 a.m. PT at MLB.com as well as the Rangers’ official website.

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, fans have not been allowed in MLB stadiums this season, so the NLCS will mark the first time that is the case. Beginning in the Division Series, teams will be in bubbles with the four series being played at Globe Life Field, Minute Maid Park (Houston), Petco Park (San Diego) and Dodger Stadium.

Whether fans will be allowed to attend the Division Series or American League Championship Series remains to be seen. Although that depends on government officials in California and Texas, as well as other coronavirus-related restrictions.

Considering the ALCS will be in California at Petco Park, it is unlikely that fans will be in attendance. The same can be said for the ALDS.

In order to keep fans socially distanced, MLB is selling NLCS and World Series tickets in groups of four contiguous seats they are calling pods. Each pod will be a minimum of six feet from each other and will be at least 20 feet away from anywhere players go on the field.

Additionally, fans can only purchase one pod per game and the tickets cannot be split up and sold. As far as rules once in the stadium go, masks will be mandatory except when eating or drinking at seats.

Hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the ballpark and the only bags permitted in the stadium will be for medical reasons or manufactured diaper bags that accompany infants and young children.

Dodgers’ path to World Series goes through Globe Life Field

If the Dodgers are able to advance past their Wild Card Series against the Milwaukee Brewers this week, they will head to Texas to enter the MLB bubble.

L.A.’s side of the bracket includes them playing the NLDS, NLCS and World Series at Globe Life Field, so if they continue to advance then they will be the first ones to play in front of fans in 2020.
