The Los Angeles Dodgers had three Minor Leaguers honored for the month of July in Michael Busch and Mike Montgomery for Triple-A Oklahoma City, and Kendall Williams for the High-A Great Lakes Loons.

Busch is the Dodgers’ No. 2 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, and he ranks No. 32 in all of baseball. He was named the Pacific Coast League (PCL) Player of the Month for July.

Despite his dominant performance this year at Triple-A, Busch has been blocked on the Major League roster. The 25-year-old did make his MLB debut earlier in the season, but has seen limited opportunities with the Dodgers.

Montgomery is a veteran of six MLB seasons and signed a Minor League contract with the Dodgers in early June. His performance over the last month earned him PCL Pitcher of the Month honors for OKC.

The 34-year-old from Mission Hills, California, is most well-known for recording the final out of the 2016 World Series with the Chicago Cubs, but with the Dodgers he seems destined to remain as organizational depth.

Williams, who was acquired by the Dodgers from the Toronto Blue Jays in 2020 for Ross Stripling, is finally having his first taste of real success with the Loons. The 22-year-old had his best month on the mound in July, which earned him the Midwest League Pitcher of the Month award.

PCL Player of the Month: Michael Busch

Busch was named the PCL Player of the Month for July after batting .324/.434/.696 with 11 home runs, 26 RBI and 21 runs scored.

Busch lead the league in homers and total bases (72), finished second in hits (33), RBI, and slugging percentage, and came in third in runs, on-base plus slugging (1.130) and fifth in walks (17).

During the month, he recorded 10 multi-hit games and ended July on a seven-game hitting streak, going 15-for-33 (.455) in those games.

PCL Pitcher of the Month: Mike Montgomery

Montgomery was named the PCL Player of the Month after going 2-0 with a 1.21 ERA in five games (three starts). He allowed just 10 hits and three earned runs over 22.1 innings.

The 34-year-old additionally held opponents to a .132 average in July, the lowest mark of any pitcher in the league that threw at least 11 innings.

Midwest League Pitcher of the Month: Kendall Williams

Williams earned Midwest League Pitcher of the Month honors after he pitched to a 1.90 ERA in five starts while limiting opponents to just five earned runs on 13 hits over 23.2 innings in the month.

The 22-year-old struck out 23 batters and held opponents to a .155 average. In addition, the right-hander allowed just one earned run over a three-start span covering 13.2 innings.
