The Los Angeles Dodgers eliminated the Milwaukee Brewers with a sweep to win the 23rd National League pennant in franchise history.
It’s the 14th NL championship in Los Angeles franchise history and by winning Game 4, the Dodgers clinched the pennant at Dodger Stadium for the second time in as many years.
Next for the Dodgers is a World Series matchup against either the Seattle Mariners or Toronto Blue Jays.
Since 1969, when MLB introduced the League Championship Series as part of the postseason, the Dodgers have played in the NLCS a total of 17 times. That’s good for the most in NL history and ranks second all-time behind the New York Yankees (19).
The Dodgers appeared in the NLCS for the eighth time in the last 13 seasons (2013, 2016-2018, 2020-2021, 2024-2025).
Many baseball pundits expected the Dodgers to be crowned 2025 NL champions heading into the season. They went into the year with one of the most talented rosters assembled in quite some time and were projected to break the all-time MLB wins record.
While offseason signings of Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates did not exactly pan out, L.A. still received enough production from their stars to finish with a 93-69 record during the regular season.
The Dodgers won a 12th NL West title in the last 13 seasons and began their postseason journey by sweeping the Cincinnati Reds in the Wild Card round.
They then eliminated the Philadelphia Phillies in the NL Division Series before taking down the Brewers, who finished with the best record in the Majors.
The Dodgers are now four wins away from becoming the first team to repeat as World Series champions since the 1998-2000 New York Yankees.
