The Los Angeles Dodgers were represented by five prospects on ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel’s top 100 rankings for the 2024 season, headlined by Josue De Paula (No. 68) and Dalton Rushing (No. 75). Joining them on the ESPN rankings are Diego Cartaya (No. 85), Nick Frasso (No. 86) and Andy Pages (No. 87).

De Paula was part of the Dodgers’ 2022 international signing period class and has quickly risen through the ranks after a solid 2023 season.

He hit .284/.396/.372 with 15 doubles, two triples, two home runs, 40 RBI and 14 stolen bases over 74 games in his first season with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. McDaniel noted that De Paula will likely be limited to a corner outfield spot, but already has plus hit and power tools.

Rushing is coming off a year that saw him .228/.404/.452 with 18 doubles, 15 home runs and 53 RBI in 89 games for High-A Great Lakes. McDaniel believes Rushing could potentially stick at catcher but has average hitting tools.

Cartaya hit just .189/.278/.379 with 10 doubles, 19 home runs and 57 RBI over 93 games in what marked his first action at Double-A Tulsa. Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes recently said the team is not worried about his offensive and saw him make progress in other areas.

Frasso went 4-6 with a 3.77 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 10.4 strikeouts per nine in 93 innings pitched over 25 starts for the Drillers and Triple-A Oklahoma City. However, he suffered a torn labrum late in the year that required right shoulder surgery and Frasso now is unlikely to pitch in 2024.

Pages appeared in only 34 games between Tulsa and OKC due to a season-ending shoulder injury that required surgery. He batted a combined .277/.425/.482 with 12 doubles, three home runs and 25 RBI in 146 plate appearances.

Dodgers on Baseball America top 100 prospects list

The Dodgers had four prospects featured on Baseball America’s top 100 list for the 2024 season, headlined by Rushing (No. 50) and Gavin Stone (No. 82).

Pages (No. 96) and Frasso (No. 97) also made the rankings, while De Paula and River Ryan were included in the “just missed” category.
