Jet-setting while the Dodgers are playing? No problem. With some planning, you can still catch Mookie Betts and the boys no matter what country you’re in. This quick guide explains the best legal ways to stream or listen to games, what blackout rules mean abroad, and simple tools to connect you to Dodger baseball.

If you rely on apps tied to your home region, some streams may not appear when you’re overseas. A practical fix many travelers use is a VPN. Choose a reputable provider, install it on your device, then connect to the region where your subscription works. If you need one fast, you can download a VPN and get set up before first pitch.

Option 1: MLB.TV (Best for most travelers)

Outside the U.S. and Canada, MLB.TV usually offers live Dodgers games with far fewer blackouts than at home. Subscriptions also include on-demand replays and highlights. Availability can vary by country, so check MLB’s official blackout and game availability pages before you buy or stream. Some games are still exclusive to other broadcasters (see Apple TV+ below). When a game is “nationally exclusive,” it won’t appear live in MLB.TV even abroad. MLB lists these national exclusives and blackout details on its help pages.

Option 2: Apple TV+ “Friday Night Baseball”

Many Friday Dodgers games can stream on Apple TV+ as part of MLB’s weekly doubleheader. Apple confirms that Friday Night Baseball runs all season and is available in dozens of countries and regions. If the Dodgers are on the Friday slate, open the Apple TV app and watch with your Apple TV+ subscription—no local RSN is required.

Option 3: Local Sports Services

Some countries carry MLB games on local platforms. For example, guides note coverage on TNT Sports via Discovery+ in the U.K., Sportsnet in Canada, and ESPN via Foxtel/Kayo in Australia. A local plan could be reliable and straightforward if you’re in one of these regions for a while.

What about Spectrum SportsNet

At home in the Dodgers’ TV territory, games air on Spectrum SportsNet LA (through MLB’s SNLA+ in-market streaming). These are designed for viewers in the Dodgers’ home region and typically aren’t the solution for travelers overseas. When you’re abroad, MLB.TV and Apple TV+ are your go-tos.

Understanding Blackouts

Blackouts exist so certain broadcasters have exclusive rights in certain places. In the U.S. and Canada, blackouts are common on MLB. There are usually fewer blackouts abroad for TV, but national exclusives still apply (for example, some Apple TV+ games). Always double-check MLB’s official blackout policy if a game is missing from your app.

Can’t Stream? Listen live with MLB at Bat

If video isn’t available, MLB At Bat (part of MLB.TV or sold separately) lets you listen to every team’s radio broadcast without blackouts, perfect for flights, spotty Wi-Fi, or when a game is geo-blocked. Open the app, tap Audio, and pick home or away radio.

Quick Traveler Checklist

  • Subscribe to MLB.TV (international access is usually best when abroad).
  • Add Apple TV+ for Friday Night Baseball games.
  • Install your VPN and test your streaming apps before you fly (always follow service terms).
  • If a stream is blocked, switch to live radio via MLB at Bat.

Travel doesn’t have to mean missing Dodgers baseball. Use MLB.TV for most games, Apple TV+ on Friday nights, and local providers where helpful. Keep a VPN handy to access your home services securely while respecting each app’s rules. And if the video won’t play, flip to At Bat radio and ride every pitch. That way, wherever you land, you’ll still bleed Dodger blue.
