The Los Angeles Dodgers scheduled an introductory press conference for Mookie Betts and David Price on Wednesday, beginning at 1 p.m. in center field at Dodger Stadium.

President of baseball operations Andrew Friedman and manager Dave Roberts are also going to be present and expected to speak. Betts is keeping with his No. 50 uniform number, while Price will don No. 33 for the first time in his Major League career.

SportsNet LA is going to televise the press conference in its entirety and it will also be streamed on the Dodgers’ official Twitter and Facebook accounts, along with their YouTube channel.

AM 570 L.A. Sports will carry it as well, and DodgerBlue.com additionally will be present and sharing content from our social media outlets.

Nearly one week after reaching an agreement to acquire Betts and Price as part of a three-team trade with the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins, the Dodgers finalized the deal but under a new structure.

An impasse between the Red Sox and Twins undid the original agreement, resulting in the Dodgers completing separate trades with Boston and Minnesota. In the end they still parted with Alex Verdugo, but also sent prospects Jeter Downs and Connor Wong to the Red Sox.

The Dodgers received Betts, Price and a reported $48 million from Boston to help cover the remaining salary on the left-hander’s contract.

Although Friedman has acquired marquee talent throughout the course of his career as an executive, he deemed Betts the best player he’s traded for and likely will ever acquire. Friedman additionally is excited over reuniting with Price for the first time since both were with the Tampa Bay Rays.

The two All-Stars join a Dodgers team that’s coming off a franchise-record 106 wins but remains in pursuit of a World Series championship that now has evaded the organization for 31 years.
