The Los Angeles Dodgers (47-31) rebounded nicely from being no-hit in their series opener against the Chicago Cubs over the weekend. Now riding a three-game winning streak, the defending World Series champion Dodgers will attempt to pick up some ground on the National League West-leading San Francisco Giants (50-27) starting on Monday, opening as -187 home favorites on the MLB odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com in the first of two games at Chavez Ravine (how the moneyline works).

Giants vs. Dodgers | OddsShark Matchup Report

Los Angeles fell victim to a combined no-hitter thrown by Chicago last Thursday and then proceeded to win the next three games of the series by a total score of 16-5. The Dodgers will get to send two of their best starting pitchers to the mound versus the Giants, beginning with Trevor Bauer (7-5, 2.57 ERA) in the opener.

The reigning NL Cy Young Award winner is coming off a no-decision at the San Diego Padres last Wednesday, giving up three runs and five hits in six innings of an eventual 5-3 loss, walking four batters and striking out 10 on 102 pitches.

However, Bauer had a strong showing at San Francisco back on May 21, allowing only two hits and one unearned run in a 2-1 victory with four walks and a season-high 11 strikeouts. He will be opposed by Anthony DeSclafani (8-2, 2.77 ERA), who has won his last four starts overall but struggled in two meetings with Los Angeles before that this year. DeSclafani went 0-1 in those two outings, surrendering 12 runs and 14 hits in 7.1 innings with seven walks and six strikeouts.

In Tuesday’s series finale, two once-beaten pitchers will square off when Walker Buehler (7-1, 2.51 ERA) of the Dodgers toes the rubber opposite Kevin Gausman (8-1, 1.49 ERA) of the Giants. Buehler was on the hill for Los Angeles when the team got no-hit at home, suffering his first loss of the season after he gave up three runs and five hits — including two home runs — in six innings of the 4-0 defeat with two walks and six strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Gausman has bounced back from his lone loss of 2021 by going 1-0 in his past two starts, allowing three runs and eight hits in 15 innings with two walks and 15 strikeouts. He also pitched six scoreless innings against the Dodgers in a 5-4 road victory on May 30, with no walks and seven strikeouts on 72 pitches.

In fact, San Francisco won three of the four games played in the last series between the two teams at Dodger Stadium a month ago. Prior to its current three-game series skid, Los Angeles had won six straight meetings, with each victory coming on the road. In addition, the OVER is on a 5-1 run at sports betting sites in the last six games between the two teams.
