FOCO released new bobbleheads of Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani to commemorate the Los Angeles Dodgers participating in the annual Salute to the Negro Leagues Game hosted by the Kansas City Royals.

Both bobbleheads are a limited edition and only available in a production run of 225 units each. Neither bobblehead will be restocked once quantities.

The Ohtani bobblehead portrays him in a pitching pose and set atop a team-colored base that features the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum logo. The Dodgers’ logo is also placed on the front of the base for display.

Ohtani started in Saturday’s game at Kauffman Stadium and completed two scoreless innings for his longest outing as a Dodgers pitcher. Included in that was throwing a 101.7 mph fastball, which registered as Ohtani’s fastest pitch in his MLB career.

The Betts bobblehead has him in a throwing action from shortstop, where he’s excelled this year and likely will be a Gold Glove finalist. It also includes the Dodgers’ logo and that for the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum that is a popular attraction in Kansas City.

Dodgers & Royals play Salute to Negro Leagues Game

Sunday marked the Royals’ annual Salute to the Negro Leagues Game, which in other years has been scheduled during their series with the Dodgers as well. In seasons past, the Dodgers have taken a trip to the Negro Leagues Museum to learn about some of the sport’s trailblazers.

This year is the 80th anniversary of Jackie Robinson’s only season with the Monarchs. Robinson of course went on to break MLB’s color barrier with the Dodgers.

The Royals wore black and gold Kansas City Monarchs cap from 1945, and the Dodgers participated by wearing their Brooklyn hat.

All players signed their individual hat so they can be auctioned with proceeds benefitting the Negro Leagues Museum.
