The Dodgers are World Series champions for the ninth time in franchise history and it’s their third title in the last six years. That stretch of success has fueled debate and the notion of the Dodgers being MLB’s newest dynasty.
Their 2025 postseason run began against the Cincinnati Reds in National League Wild Card Series, which the Dodgers swept with relative ease. That set the stage for a highly-anticipated matchup with the Philadelphia Phillies in the NL Division Series.
Starting pitching remained a strength for the Dodgers as they took a 2-0 series lead despite beginning on the road. The Dodgers then eliminated the Phillies with a walk-off win at Dodger Stadium in Game 4.
Los Angeles then swept the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Championship Series. Despite the Brewers finishing with the best record in baseball, Dodgers starting pitchers combined for postseason history amid a dominant stretch.
The Dodgers had one week off before beginning the World Series against the Blue Jays, who had the best record in the American League. Toronto made a statement with their Game 1 win and went on to take a 3-2 lead in the series.
However, the Dodgers became back-to-back champions by pulling off two wins in Toronto.
