Dodgers World Series: Yasiel Puig Unveils Blue Hairdo, ‘Tongues Out’ Cleats For Game 1

On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Dodgers played their first World Series game since 1988. The Fall Classic game was a first at Dodger Stadium since Oct. 16 of that year. The 29-year wait created overwhelming demand for tickets and a excitement that’s swept across the city.

The enthusiasm was enough to move Yasiel Puig to undergo a drastic change for the World Series. On the eve of Game 1, Puig posted a video on Instagram Live of hair dye being applied to the top of his head.

Shortly after, he shared another video, with what appeared to be a blonde streak of hair going down the middle of his mane. But when Puig was next seen, at Dodger Stadium for batting practice, his hair had a Dodger Blue tint to it.

Furthermore, it included a design that paid homage to a recent celebratory habit of sticking his tongue out and wagging it at teammates.

Predictably, Puig’s new style set social media ablaze.

The 26-year-old also carried out the theme through a pair of custom cleats that were worn for Game 1.

Puig went 0-for-3 in the Dodgers’ win and caught the final out of the game on a routine fly ball to right field. He did so, of course, with his tongue sticking out.
