After taking two of the first three games at Coors Field, the Los Angeles Dodgers can secure a series win with another victory in their final matchup of the season against the Colorado Rockies.

Ryan Yarbrough makes only his second start and 11th overall appearance since joining the Dodgers from a trade with the Kansas City Royals at the August 1 deadline.

The left-hander’s only other start with L.A. came on September 10, when he allowed two runs on five hits and collected five strikeouts in four innings pitched against the Washington Nationals.

Yarbrough is coming off a successful outing against the San Francisco Giants in which he gave up two runs on five hits and collected five strikeouts over 3.2 innings of work as a bulk pitcher.

Yarbrough is 4-1 with a 3.12 ERA, 3.57 FIP, 1.07 WHIP and 9.3 strikeouts per nine in 34.2 innings with the Dodgers. He owns an 8-6 record, 3.78 ERA, 3.99 FIP and 1.14 WHIP in 85.2 frames across 24 games (eight starts) on the season as a whole.

Although Yarbrough is starting in the series finale at Coors Field, he’s much more likely to remain in a swingman role come the postseason.

The Rockies counter with Chris Flexen, who looks to build on a solid start against the Chicago Cubs. The right-hander yielded two runs on five hits in five innings pitched, but did not factor into the decision.

Flexen enters at 1-4 with a 6.46 ERA, 5.74 FIP and 1.56 WHIP in 54.1 innings this year (11 starts). He has faced the Dodgers just one other time in his career, allowing a run as a reliever for the New York Mets during the 2018 season.
