The Los Angeles Dodgers will ride a two-game losing streak against the Colorado Rockies into the opener of their weekend series on Thursday night as -173 road favorites on the MLB odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The Dodgers and Rockies last met in a three-game series from Sept. 4-6, with Los Angeles winning the first game of that set 10-6 as -230 home favorites at sports betting sites but Colorado bouncing back with 5-2 and 7-6 victories over the subsequent two contests.

Still, the Dodgers are 7-3 in their last 10 games against the Rockies dating back to last September, which includes a three-game sweep of Colorado in their first meeting of the season in late August at Dodger Stadium. The OVER has paid out on the totals in three of their last four meetings and in six of their last 10 matchups overall.

Los Angeles is expected to give the ball to Julio Urias (3-0, 3.53 ERA) for the opener on Thursday night, with the left-hander coming off a no-decision against the Astros last Saturday in which he allowed just one run on three hits over six innings of work. Urias faced the Rockies on September 6, giving up four runs on five hits in just 4.1 innings in that contest.

Kyle Freeland (2-1, 3.54 ERA) is the probable pitcher for the Rockies for Thursday, and he’s also coming off a no-decision from last Saturday in which he surrendered two runs on four hits over six innings of work against the Angels. The left-hander went up against the Dodgers back on August 22, giving up three runs on four hits over six innings in a no-decision that day.

Los Angeles hasn’t confirmed a pitcher for Friday’s contest, but Clayton Kershaw (5-2, 2.28 ERA) is in line to start Saturday’s game. The left-hander stumbled in a loss to the Padres on Monday, allowing three runs on five hits in 6.1 innings of work. Kershaw has only allowed 12 earned runs over his eight starts this season, but six of them came in his last two outings.

The Dodgers follow up their series in Colorado by returning home for the final stretch of the regular season, getting visits from the Oakland A’s and the Los Angeles Angels next week.
